Nawabzada Haji Mir Lashkari Khan Raisani Stresses Importance of Balochistan’s Sovereignty and Rights

Quetta: Senior politician and former senator Nawabzada Haji Mir Lashkari Khan Raisani has reaffirmed the deep-rooted connection between the people of Balochistan and their land, asserting that nothing is more valuable than the soil of Balochistan. He emphasized that every individual in the province is the rightful heir to this land and that Balochistan’s heritage has given the people a unique national identity.

Addressing various delegations at his residence in Sarawan House on Monday, Nawabzada Raisani remarked, “The soil of Balochistan gave birth to our national civilization, our identity, and the very foundation of who we are as a people.” He also underscored his commitment to defending Balochistan’s political, historical, social, and democratic rights, adding that he is continuously working towards the supremacy of the constitution, law, and ethical values in the province.

Commenting on the recently passed Mines and Minerals Act, Raisani criticized it for perpetuating the exploitation of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s resources, calling it a direct attempt to seize the province’s valuable assets. He made it clear that the people of Balochistan would never accept this act and would stand firm in their opposition to any such laws that undermine their sovereignty.

“When our ancestors sacrificed their lives for the formation of our nation, it wasn’t gold or minerals they sought—it was the soil, the very earth that gave birth to our civilization and gave us our national identity. That land is the most precious asset we have, and every individual in Balochistan is its rightful heir,” he stated.

Nawabzada Raisani also called on the political parties of Balochistan to unite for the defense of the province’s rights. He warned that there were only two paths: either stand firm for the national rights of Balochistan or compromise those rights in favor of maintaining the status quo of political affiliations. He stressed that there is no third option.

In addition, he raised concerns over the proposed merger of the Levies Force with the police, warning that it was part of a larger conspiracy to justify and weaken the province’s law enforcement mechanisms under the guise of improving peace and security. He urged all concerned citizens and political leaders to unite and thwart this move, which he described as a direct attack on the province’s autonomy and governance.

The statement concluded with a call for Balochistan’s political leadership to take decisive action, safeguarding the rights and security of the province and ensuring that Balochistan’s political and administrative integrity is preserved.
