Major Crackdown by ANF and Customs: Narcotics Worth Millions Seized

Islamabad: In a series of coordinated anti-smuggling operations, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) and Pakistan Customs have seized narcotics worth millions of rupees and arrested several suspects, including foreign nationals.
According to the spokesperson, ANF conducted six major operations targeting drug trafficking networks across different cities and near educational institutions. A total of eight individuals, including a Nigerian national, were arrested, and 1,776 kilograms of narcotics with an estimated street value of over PKR 77.2 million were recovered.
In operations near educational institutes, ANF intercepted:
1 kg of hashish from a motorcyclist near Golra Morr, Islamabad,
* 50 ecstasy pills from two passengers in a van near Mandi Morr, Rawalpindi,
* 35 grams of crystal meth (“ice”) and 2 grams of cocaine from a Nigerian citizen near Kak Pul, Islamabad.
The suspects confessed to selling drugs to students.
In other raids:
1,675 kg of potassium permanganate and 75 kg of nitrazepam were recovered from three suspects near Circular Road, Lahore.
* At a courier office in Aabpara, Islamabad, 16.42 kg of crystal meth was found in a parcel destined for the UK.
* 9 kg of crystal meth was seized from a vehicle near T-Chowk, Islamabad, and one individual was taken into custody.
All suspects have been booked under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and further investigations are underway.
Meanwhile, at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, Customs officials foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of drugs. Acting on a tip-off, officials intercepted a foreign passenger arriving from Bangkok via Thai Airways flight TG345. Over 15 kg of marijuana (cannabis), valued at approximately PKR 31 million, was recovered from his luggage.
The suspect initially passed through the green channel without his baggage but returned later to collect it. He was then stopped and searched by Customs staff. A case has been registered, and authorities have launched a search for the suspect’s local accomplices.
