Sohail Wadhich Reveals Imran Khan Was Offered to Stay Quiet and Accept the System, But Refused

Lahore: Senior journalist Sohail Wadhich has revealed that when Ali Amin Gandapur, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, approached Imran Khan with an offer, Khan refused to comply. According to Wadhich, the offer made to Imran Khan was that he should relocate to Bani Gala, accept the existing system, and remain silent. However, Khan was not willing to accept these conditions.
During a private TV program, Sohail Wadhich explained that Imran Khan had been repeatedly offered this deal, but he deemed it insufficient. The offer was for Khan to go to Bani Gala, acknowledge the system, and quietly stay out of the political limelight. But he was unwilling to comply. When Ali Amin Gandapur came with this message, Imran Khan, in a symbolic gesture, even removed his shoes in protest.
Wadhich went on to explain that while Imran Khan might be open to reconciliation, he is not willing to settle for terms that do not include his return to power. “Imran Khan is not willing to settle for anything less than his return to the throne,” Wadhich said. He also mentioned that although past leaders like Nawaz Sharif and Benazir Bhutto fought with the military and also reconciled with it, Imran Khan appears to be stuck in his ideology and unable to find a way forward.
The senior journalist pointed out that true leadership is about understanding the facts of the situation. “Fame alone will not change the realities of power in Pakistan; without widespread acceptance, one cannot achieve power,” Wadhich concluded.
