“In Islamabad, 3,000 Containers Have Been Placed Starting Today, Making People’s Lives Miserable” — Shafi Jan

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shafi Jan has said that in Islamabad, 3,000 containers have been placed starting today, making people’s lives miserable, and the court should take notice of it. Speaking on a program on Dunya News, he said that on September 27 the road will heat up and Sohail Afridi will lead it; “we will protest peacefully — protest happens when one is not heard.”

He said that over two years “we tried negotiations but nothing worked out.” He added that there is also a question for the Islamabad High Court that more than 20 decisions have been given regarding Imran Khan’s health and meeting him, but none were implemented. “You are saying that citizens’ lives should not be made miserable, but in Islamabad, 3,000 containers have been placed starting today.”

He said the court should issue a decision on how Islamabad can be shut down. “We know they will beat us, arrest us, and disqualify us, but there is a question for the Islamabad High Court that none of your decisions regarding Imran Khan have been implemented.”

He said that on September 27 the road will heat up and Sohail Afridi will lead it.

On the other hand, in light of the Islamabad High Court’s orders, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has issued instructions regarding the ban on the use of government officers and resources in connection with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s march toward Islamabad. According to sources, the Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while directing all concerned officers to ensure implementation of the court orders in letter and spirit, has said that if any officer is asked to participate in the march, the Chief Secretary or the Inspector General of Police should be informed immediately.

In an office memorandum issued by the Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, it has been stated that no government officer will provide assistance or facilitation in any march, rally, or procession toward Islamabad. According to the instructions, no such march or rally will be allowed that may affect free movement, commercial and business activities, or access to educational institutions or medical facilities in Islamabad. The instructions stated that government vehicles, machinery, equipment, public funds, or other government resources cannot be used for any march or rally, and departmental action will be taken against any government officer who violates the court orders.
