Five-Story Building Collapses in Karachi, Several People Trapped Under Rubble

Karachi: A five-story residential building in Karachi collapsed unexpectedly, trapping several people under the rubble, while nearby buildings have also been affected. The incident occurred in the Baghdadi area of Lyari, near the Al-Nawid Hotel, causing widespread panic in the locality.
According to rescue officials, the building completely crumbled, and emergency operations began immediately after the incident was reported. So far, six individuals have been rescued in injured condition, two of whom are in critical condition. The collapsed building housed six families, and there are concerns that more people may be trapped under the debris. Civil Hospital authorities confirmed that a total of six injured individuals have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori expressed deep concern over the incident and instructed rescue agencies to carry out immediate, coordinated, and effective operations to ensure the safe retrieval of those trapped and provide urgent medical care to the injured. He warned that any negligence or carelessness would be unacceptable.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah also condemned the incident, calling it extremely tragic.
