Actress Tamannaah Bhatia Reveals Using Her Own Saliva to Treat Acne

Mumbai: Indian actress Tamannaah Bhatia has surprised fans with an unconventional skincare tip — using her own early morning saliva to treat acne.
During a recent interview with Indian media, Tamannaah shared a personal beauty hack when asked about her remedy for skin breakouts. She casually responded with one word: **“Saliva. Apply saliva.”**
Explaining her method further, the actress said that saliva produced in the early morning — even before brushing — is believed to have antibacterial properties that can help dry out pimples effectively. “This is something I’ve personally tried, and I really believe there’s some science behind it. Overnight, the body produces several antibacterial components in the mouth, and this can be useful in treating acne,” she explained.
Tamannaah added that our bodies naturally fight off bacteria during sleep, which is why we often wake up with sticky eyes, congested noses, and the presence of protective substances in the mouth. She claimed that applying morning saliva to pimples can quickly dry them out.
### Anti-Aging Skin Care Advice
In the same interview, the actress also shared her anti-aging skincare routine. She advised that people should start incorporating anti-aging products into their daily routine by the age of 25. “Since we’re always in front of cameras, I started taking better care of my skin around the age of 24 or 25,” she said.
She emphasized the importance of diet in skincare, saying, “Your food choices are crucial — you need to know what works for your body.”
### What Does Science Say About Saliva for Acne?
Interestingly, science does offer some support to Tamannaah’s claim. According to a study published in the *Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology*, human saliva contains antimicrobial compounds that can combat acne-causing bacteria. These natural elements may help reduce inflammation and bacterial growth on the skin.
While not a mainstream treatment, the idea of using morning saliva as a pimple remedy has gained attention — thanks to Tamannaah’s candid beauty advice.
