Bushra Ansari Responds Strongly to Rubi Anam’s Criticism, Urges Positivity in the Industry

Karachi: Veteran Pakistani actress Bushra Ansari has hit back at recent criticism from Lahore-based actress and comedian Rubi Anam, who suggested that Bushra should quit vlogging at her age and focus on rest.

In a candid YouTube message, Bushra Ansari said she usually laughs off negative comments but felt compelled to address this matter. *“We need to end the negativity within ourselves. A woman I don’t even know personally spoke about me—I had only seen a few clips of her. I’m thankful that legends like Moin Akhtar, Qazi Wajid, and Zia Mohyeddin left this world in time, otherwise in today’s era of disrespect, they too might have faced such indecency,”* she remarked.

Bushra further pointed out that criticism in the entertainment industry should come with compassion rather than harshness. *“Our drama industry has limited resources and many challenges. Criticism is necessary, but the tone should always be soft.”*

Emphasizing the power of words, she added: *“Your tongue can change your life. If misused, it harms you; if used positively, it makes you a loving and beautiful human being.”*

The actress also condemned the trend of mocking appearances, citing an example: *“I saw a picture of Dr. Shaista Lodhi, and people started criticizing her looks. Today, filters and surgeries are common. If someone has the resources and chooses to do it, why object? It’s their life and their decision.”*

Addressing fellow senior artists, Bushra advised: *“When you speak about your own fraternity, be gentle. I never mock my colleagues. Everyone has flaws, but pointing them out with love and kindness is what truly matters.”*

Her response has been widely noted as a strong yet thoughtful message, urging positivity and mutual respect in Pakistan’s showbiz industry.
