Heavy Rainfall Brings Relief to Islamabad; Light Showers in Karachi and Coastal Areas

ISLAMABAD – Heavy rainfall in various parts of Islamabad turned the weather pleasant on Monday night, offering much-needed relief from the recent heat. Light rain and drizzles were also reported in several areas of Karachi, bringing down temperatures and offering brief respite to residents.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), more showers are expected today in parts of Upper Punjab, the Pothohar region, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir. At some locations, heavy rainfall may occur, potentially causing localized flooding.
In Sindh, the weather is expected to remain partly cloudy with chances of light rain or drizzle, particularly in coastal areas including Karachi, Thatta, and Badin.
Meanwhile, the Flood Forecasting Division (FFD) in Lahore reported a **low-level flood** at **Guddu and Sukkur barrages** on the Indus River. All other rivers are currently flowing at normal levels at their respective headworks.
Authorities have advised residents in vulnerable areas to stay alert and follow safety guidelines during the monsoon activity.
