JUI-F Leaders Condemn Sale of Alcohol in Balochistan, Call for Strict Action Against Corruption and Social Decay

Quetta:Leaders of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) Ideological Balochistan chapter, including Provincial Emir Maulana Abdul Qadir Luni, Provincial General Secretary Hafiz Abdul Ahad Kabdani, Deputy Emir Syed Haji Abdul Sattar Shah Chishti, Provincial Patron Maulana Khudai Nazar, Deputy General Secretary Haji Obaidullah Haqqani, Joint Secretary Mir Mubarak Muhammad Hasni, and Patron Maulana Nematullah, have strongly condemned the open sale of alcohol in Balochistan.

In a joint statement, they stated that the annual sale of 400,000 gallons of alcohol in the province is a severe violation of Islamic values and traditions, contributing to an increase in crime, social decay, and unrest. They claimed that while the minority communities are often cited as the beneficiaries of alcohol sales, in reality, it is the Muslim population that bears the brunt of this growing illicit trade.

“Alcohol is openly sold in bars and hotels under the guise of minority rights, with the government and administration acting as facilitators,” the leaders said. “The sale of alcohol is not only a violation of Islamic principles but is also contributing to the rise of over 200 diseases, including heart conditions. This unchecked sale is a direct threat to our youth, who are being systematically destroyed through drugs, obscenity, and immorality.”

The leaders also pointed out that the use of permits issued to minorities for alcohol sales is being manipulated, with large hotels granted permission to sell alcohol in exchange for bribes. They added that local authorities are providing full protection to these businesses, allowing the trade to flourish with impunity.

“All religions consider alcohol to be haram (forbidden), yet it continues to be sold openly under the false pretext of serving minority communities,” they remarked. “This organized corruption is destroying the fabric of our society, and it must stop. The government’s silence on issues of immorality and obscenity will only lead to divine wrath.”

The JUI-F leaders called on the government to impose a strict ban on alcohol sales in the region and take immediate steps to curb the growing menace of drugs and moral degradation. They emphasized that a nation cannot prosper when its youth are destroyed by such vices, and they urged the authorities to take swift action to protect the Islamic values and social well-being of Balochistan.
