Student Organizations Reach One-Month Truce After Tensions at University of Balochistan

QUETTA:In a significant development, several student organizations, including BSO (Pajjar), BSO, Pashtun Students Federation, and People’s Students Federation, came together to de-escalate tensions following recent unpleasant incidents at the University of Balochistan.
The central chairman of BSO (Pajjar), Bohir Saleh Baloch, visited the central office of the Pashtunkhwa Students Organization (PSO), where he held detailed discussions with the central, provincial, and district leadership of PSO. Both sides strongly condemned the recent clashes in the university and called for unity and dialogue to prevent future incidents.
Chairman Bohir Saleh Baloch appealed on behalf of likeminded student groups for a peaceful resolution through negotiations between PSO and BSO, a sentiment welcomed by PSO leadership. The organizations emphasized the need to maintain a healthy academic environment in educational institutions across Balochistan.
A mutual agreement was reached to fully prevent future confrontations and to ensure strict, impartial action against those responsible, regardless of group affiliation. As a major outcome of the meeting, both PSO and BSO agreed to a **one-month truce**, announced in a joint declaration. A committee led by Bohir Saleh Baloch was formed to monitor the ceasefire and facilitate ongoing dialogue.
Prominent figures, including Professor Dr. Alam Tareen, played a key role in brokering the peace agreement. It was also agreed that a follow-up meeting would be held to further resolve outstanding issues.
The meeting was attended by a large number of PSO leaders from various tiers, including:

The joint commitment of these student bodies marks a hopeful turning point in restoring peace and academic normalcy at the University of Balochistan.
