Mansehra: A key statement from former National Assembly member and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Captain (R) Safdar has surfaced regarding Nawaz Sharif’s defeat in Mansehra. In a viral video shared on social media, Captain Safdar can be seen speaking with a reporter, explaining the reasons behind the loss.
During the conversation, Captain Safdar revealed that three individuals, who have now retired, played a significant role. He further stated that had it not been for their influence, he would have summoned them to court and asked why the election results were announced on the 10th of the month. “Your agencies said Nawaz Sharif has lost here, and firing was happening,” he added, hinting at a conspiracy behind the defeat.
Captain Safdar continued, saying, “If I speak openly, it will be trouble for them.” The reporter responded, noting that Captain Safdar is known for speaking his mind, to which Safdar quipped, “That’s why I’m standing in the heat, otherwise, I would be sitting in air-conditioned rooms, eating samosas with you.”
When asked about the advice he gave Nawaz Sharif, Captain Safdar admitted that his suggestions weren’t always followed, adding, “I can fight anyone, but I can’t challenge the system.” He further stated, “When I was in jail, the nation gave me a seat. I started campaigning a year ago, and even today, when I visit villages, people say, ‘We voted for Nawaz Sharif, and we are loyal to him.'”
Captain Safdar also emphasized the strong relationship he shares with the people of his constituency, recalling how locals supported Nawaz Sharif despite any external challenges. He concluded by saying, “We are not so unfaithful that we would refuse to vote for the man who has shaped our future.”
