Imran Khan Must Rely on His Own Strength to Get Out of Jail, Says Barrister Umair Niazi

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of National Assembly Barrister Umair Niazi stated that if Imran Khan is to be released from prison, it will have to be through his own strength. Speaking on a Dawn News program, Niazi claimed that Western powers are the real reason behind Imran Khan’s continued imprisonment, as no local force in Pakistan has the capacity to keep him behind bars for this long.
According to Niazi, it was the Western establishment that orchestrated the fall of Imran Khan’s government, driven by strategic interests in the region. “Imran Khan won’t offer the West the favors they expect, which is why he remains a target,” he said.
Niazi emphasized that internal support matters more for Imran Khan, adding that his sons, Qasim and Suleman, are now visiting to meet their father. “These children have been told by their father that he has been kept in solitary confinement for months — 22 hours a day. Is that treatment for a politician?” he questioned. “They’re not coming for politics, and they’re certainly not fleeing like Hassan and Hussain Nawaz — they’re sons, coming for their father.”
When questioned about PML-N leader Khurram Dastgir’s comments that the U.S. Congress members meeting Imran Khan’s sons are pro-Israel, Niazi responded, “President Trump is one of the biggest supporters of Israel — who hasn’t met him? Everyone uses the connections they have.”

It is worth noting that Imran Khan’s sons, Qasim and Suleman, are currently in the U.S. as part of an international campaign for their father’s release. They have met with members of Congress and other political and diplomatic figures. Their campaign has sparked heated debate across Pakistan’s political and media circles, with speculation mounting that they may soon visit Pakistan to meet their imprisoned father.
