Imran Khan Claims He is Serving Pakistan’s Toughest Jail Sentence, Warns of Expulsion for Party Members with Internal Disputes

Rawalpindi:Imran Khan**, the founder of **Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)**, has claimed that he is enduring the toughest prison conditions in the history of Pakistan. Speaking from **Adiala Jail**, Khan expressed his concerns over the **lack of momentum** for the **5 August movement** and warned party members that those who fall into internal disputes will be **expelled** from the party.

In his statement, Khan emphasized that no political leader has faced the kind of treatment he has received. He said, **”No political leader in Pakistan’s history has been treated the way I have been. Even though **Nawaz Sharif** was involved in billions of rupees of corruption, he was provided with every luxury in prison. Similarly, **Bushra Bibi**, my innocent wife, has been subjected to unimaginable conditions in jail, which have never been seen before.”**

Khan continued, **”I am in prison for one sole purpose: to fight for the supremacy of the constitution and the welfare of my people. The level of oppression and fascism is such that even the water provided for my **wuzu (ablution)** is dirty, and despite repeated requests, I am being denied communication with my children. My political meetings are also restricted, and I am only allowed to meet those individuals the authorities deem fit.”**

He further stated, **”I want to send a clear message to all PTI leaders and workers. Everyone in the party must immediately set aside their differences and focus solely on the **5 August movement**. I do not see any momentum for this movement at the moment, and if PTI members waste time on internal disputes, it will be a tragic and condemnable act. I am fighting against a **78-year-old system**, and my only success so far is the unwavering support of the public despite all the oppression.”**

Khan urged, **”After the **8 February elections**, the people of Pakistan gave their trust to PTI even without a symbol. Now, it is everyone’s duty to be the voice of the people. If PTI members get caught up in internal conflicts, it will only harm our mission.”**

In a stern warning, Khan asserted, **”Anyone within the party who engages in factionalism will be expelled. I am fighting for the future of my generations, and I am making sacrifices for it. Creating divisions within the party goes against my vision and harms the cause.”**

Khan also criticized the government’s attempts to **curb judicial independence**. He claimed that the **26th Amendment** has severely restricted the judiciary, **”The **26th Amendment** has effectively bound the hands of the judiciary, and the decisions coming from courts with biased judges are a clear indication of this manipulation. We must now intensify our efforts to free the judiciary because without judicial independence, the survival of any country or nation is impossible.”**

Imran Khan’s statement comes at a time when PTI faces growing challenges, both internally and politically, as it continues to struggle with the legal ramifications of the political unrest that followed the **9 May incidents**.
