PTI’s Strategic Voting Formula: Senior Journalist Reveals “Extra Votes” Helped Preferred Candidates Win

Lahore:Senior journalist Nasrat Javed has revealed that PTI leaders Murad Saeed, Mirza Afridi, Noorul Haq Qadri, and Faisal Javed received a total of 18 extra votes during the Senate elections. According to Javed, if these additional votes had been allocated to Khurram Zeeshan, he could have secured the seventh Senate seat.
Javed’s revelation highlights a strategic voting formula crafted by Ali Amin Gandapur, which was approved by PTI’s leadership, particularly Imran Khan. The formula seems to have been designed to ensure the success of certain “preferred” candidates within the party.
**Key Points from Nasrat Javed’s Disclosure:**
* Murad Saeed, who received 26 votes, was the highest-scoring candidate, with the minimum required to win being 18 votes. He gained 8 additional votes.
* Faisal Javed secured 22 votes, while both Mirza Afridi and Noorul Haq Qadri received 21 votes each.
* The total of 18 extra votes, if given to Khurram Zeeshan, could have made him the seventh successful candidate, Javed noted.
* The entire strategy, designed by Gandapur, was approved by Imran Khan, marking it as a decision from the party’s highest leadership.
Javed referred to Gandapur’s move as a smart political strategy that aligned with Imran Khan’s vision for the party’s representation. He further pointed out the internal dynamics of the PTI, where key figures like Murad Saeed were given precedence over others.
This internal voting strategy reflects not just the political maneuvering within PTI but also the way electoral decisions are influenced by party leadership rather than mere public support.
