Governor Punjab Backs PPP’s Demand to Declare Chakwal and Jhelum as Calamity-Hit Areas

Chakwal: Governor Punjab Sardar Salim Haider has endorsed the Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) demand to declare Chakwal and Jhelum as calamity-hit areas following the recent record-breaking rainfall.
Speaking to the media in Chakwal, the governor stated that he would discuss the matter with the Punjab government to ensure Chakwal is officially designated as a disaster-affected area.
He further mentioned that both the Punjab government and the Governor’s Office would contribute to compensating the losses caused by the heavy rains. A survey is currently underway to assess the extent of damage in Chakwal.
Governor Haider highlighted that Chakwal received a record 450 millimeters of rainfall, resulting in substantial damage to property and infrastructure.
