Pakistani Mountaineer Iftikhar Sadpara Dies During K2 Expedition, Three Foreign Climbers Injured

Islamabad: Renowned Pakistani mountaineer Iftikhar Sadpara lost his life during a K2 expedition after being buried under an avalanche. According to Deputy Commissioner Arif Hussain, the tragic incident occurred as Sadpara was hit by a snow slide during the climb.
The late mountaineer belonged to the village of Sadpara. Authorities confirmed that three foreign climbers who were also caught in the avalanche have been rescued safely with minor injuries.
Sadpara’s body is being transported to Skardu via helicopter and will be laid to rest in his native village later today.
