Karachi Covered by Clouds; Thunderstorms and Rain Expected Tomorrow: Meteorological Department Forecast

Karachi: The city of Karachi is currently under a blanket of clouds, with the Meteorological Department forecasting rain accompanied by thunder and lightning on Sunday.
According to the Met Office, today’s weather in Karachi remains mostly cloudy, increasing the likelihood of rain. However, the department has predicted that thunderstorms and rainfall are expected to hit the city tomorrow.
Weather experts report that strong monsoon winds continue to sweep across most parts of Sindh province. Areas such as Ghotki, Khairpur, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Tharparkar, Badin, Thatta, Sujawal, Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Matiari, Sukkur, Shikarpur, Shaheed Benazirabad, Naushero Feroze, and Larkana may experience moderate to heavy rainfall at various intervals.
Similarly, intermittent rain is expected in Qambar Shahdadkot districts, while Jamshoro is likely to receive light to moderate showers through Sunday. Due to these anticipated heavy rains, low-lying areas in rural Sindh are at risk of urban flooding.
The Meteorological Department also warned that in case of severe weather, fragile structures such as makeshift houses, power poles, vehicles, and solar panels could sustain damage.
