Key Suspects Arrested in Kohistan Mega Corruption Scandal Involving Rs. 40 Billion

Islamabad: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested key suspects in the Rs. 40 billion Kohistan mega corruption scandal, including two government officials and three contractors.
According to sources, the arrested individuals will be presented before the accountability court today.
The accused are facing serious allegations including issuance of fake cheques, money laundering, and embezzlement through benami (unnamed) accounts.
Investigative sources revealed that the District Accounts Officer played a central role in the scam. Official documents suggest that funds were misused illegally in collusion with the Accountant General’s (AG) office.
The NAB further disclosed that the suspects were involved in fake billing and fraudulent transactions through fictitious construction firms.
More arrests are expected as investigations into the Kohistan corruption scandal continue to unfold.
