Heavy Rain and Storms Predicted Until July 17: Risk of Landslides and Urban Flooding Across Pakistan

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) – The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a weather alert predicting heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds in various parts of the country from today until July 17. Authorities have been advised to take precautionary measures in advance.
City-wise Forecast:
Karachi is expected to receive thunderstorms and rain until July 16.
Islamabad and Rawalpindi will experience thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds.
Murree, Attock, Chakwal, and Gujranwala are likely to receive rain during this period.
Urban flooding is feared in low-lying areas of Lahore, Sialkot, and Faisalabad.
Pothohar region and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa may experience evening thunderstorms and winds.
Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are at risk of landslides due to continuous rainfall.
In Balochistan, areas including Barkhan, Zhob, Musa Khel, and Sibi may receive showers.
Scattered rainfall is also predicted in parts of Sindh, including Sukkur, Shikarpur, Kashmore, and Larkana.
Precautionary Measures:
The Meteorological Department has warned that strong winds may damage weak structures, while standing water in low-lying areas could disrupt daily life.
District administrations, rescue services, municipal bodies, and highway authorities have been instructed to remain alert and ensure readiness to tackle any emergencies.
Citizens are urged to avoid unnecessary travel, stay away from electric poles and trees, and keep themselves updated with the latest weather reports.
