Case Against Salman Farooqi in Youth Assault Incident Dropped

Karachi: The police have dropped the case against Salman Farooqi, the main accused in the assault of a young man.
According to Geo News, during a hearing at the Judicial Magistrate South Court in Karachi related to the assault case, the police informed the court that the action against Salman Farooqi had been terminated.
The police from Gizri Police Station submitted a report to the court stating that the victim, identified as Dheeraj alias Dhan Raj, had decided not to pursue further action against the accused. The victim provided an affidavit stating that neither the accused nor his accomplices had misbehaved with him or his sisters.
The police report further stated that based on the victim’s affidavit, charges of threats to life and other accusations were also dropped.
The court, after recording the police report, adjourned the hearing.
It is important to note that Salman Farooqi was arrested on charges of assaulting the young man in the presence of his sisters in the Defence area. A viral video on social media showed Farooqi, allegedly angry over a minor traffic incident, stopping the young man in the middle of the road and beating him, despite the victim’s sisters pleading for mercy. Following the incident, the police had registered a case against Salman Farooqi and Owais Hashmi.
