Baloch Journalists and Youth Delegation Visits CRCC Industrial Hub in Urumqi, China

Urumqi, China — A delegation comprising journalists and young social activists from Balochistan visited the major industrial center of China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) in Urumqi, located in western China. The visit aimed to observe China’s large-scale railway infrastructure projects and foster mutual knowledge exchange.
CRCC, a state-owned construction giant, operates globally on key projects such as railway lines, tunnels, bridges, and major infrastructure. The Urumqi facility holds strategic importance under China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), especially in the Xinjiang region. Modernized since 2018, it plays a pivotal role in enhancing rail and logistics connectivity between Central Asia, Kazakhstan, and Europe.
The delegation was taken on a guided tour of various departments, including rail track production and maintenance, tunneling operations, construction machinery manufacturing, container terminals, and freight logistics systems. The facility not only establishes Urumqi as a significant industrial hub but also integrates it into the global trade network.
The visitors from Balochistan praised CRCC’s technical expertise, transparency, and efficiency, highlighting how China has linked its western regions with the world through engineering excellence, automation, and quality-driven development.
During the visit, the delegation also met with Chinese officials to discuss enhanced cooperation in media and development sectors.
The tour served as a practical step in strengthening journalistic, technical, and people-to-people ties between China and Pakistan—particularly Balochistan. It provided insights into world-class railway technology and opened avenues for future information exchange and partnerships.
