Pakistan and Azerbaijan Sign Legal Cooperation Agreement

Islamabad: Pakistan and Azerbaijan have signed a landmark agreement for legal cooperation, marking a significant step towards enhancing bilateral relations in the legal and judicial sectors. The agreement was signed during the official visit of Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, to Baku, Azerbaijan.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Law and Justice, Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar held important meetings with Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov, Minister of Justice Fardegh Torabov, and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Inam Khadzhiev. The discussions centered on legal reforms, the digitization of the judicial system, and the promotion of alternative dispute resolution methods.
Minister Tarar also visited the tomb of Azerbaijan’s national leader, Heydar Aliyev, in Baku, where he paid tribute by laying a wreath of flowers.
During the visit, a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) was signed between the ministries of Law and Justice of both countries. The MoC outlines a comprehensive framework for joint efforts in the legal field, institutional capacity building, and the exchange of expertise. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to fostering a strong and sustainable partnership in the field of law and justice.
This visit marks a key milestone in Pakistan’s strategy to enhance its international legal partnerships and modernize the country’s legal framework.
