Pet Lion Escapes, Injures Woman and Two Children in Lahore’s Johar Town

Lahore:A terrifying incident unfolded in **Johar Town**, Lahore, where a **pet lion** kept at a farmhouse **escaped from its cage** and attacked a **woman and two children**, leaving all three injured.

According to police, the lion belonged to a farmhouse jointly owned by two brothers — **Malik Azam alias Shani** and **Malik Nazim**. CCTV footage shows the lion **jumping over the boundary wall** of the farmhouse and **attacking a woman walking on the street**.

As seen in the footage, a man from the farmhouse runs after the lion in an attempt to **rescue the woman**, but the lion moves on and **injures two children**, identified as **5-year-old Zoya** and **7-year-old Azhan**.

All three victims, including **27-year-old Samina**, were shifted to the hospital for treatment.

**DIG Operations Faisal Kamran** stated that **protection of citizens’ lives and property is the top priority**, and that **strict action will be taken** against those responsible for negligence.

According to the **Wildlife Department**, Malik Azam — the owner of the lion — has **gone into hiding** along with the animal. Authorities have **launched a search** to locate both the lion and its owner.

Officials emphasized that **keeping wild animals in residential areas is a serious safety hazard**, and further legal action is being considered against the owners.
