Balochistan Chief Minister Urges Young Officers to Prioritize Integrity and Public Service for Provincial Progress

Quetta:Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has emphasized the vital role of young officers as an active and effective part of the state machinery, stressing that good governance, public service, and a transparent system depend on their dedication. He made these remarks while addressing newly selected young officers who had recently passed competitive exams.

Speaking at the event, attended by Chief Secretary Shakil Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretaries Hamza Shafqat and Zahid Saleem, Principal Secretary Babar Khan, and Secretary Finance Imran Zarkoon, the Chief Minister said the development of Balochistan hinges significantly on the commitment of these young officers. He urged them to perform their duties with honesty, sincerity, and a spirit of public service, stating that such an approach would be the true measure of their success.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti highlighted that power should not be viewed as a symbol of authority but as a means to serve the people. A capable administrator is identified by their earnestness, promptness, and dedication to resolving public issues.

He underscored the need for institutional harmony and a unified vision to lead Balochistan out of its challenges and onto the path of peace, stability, and development. The Chief Minister reiterated that while the government is responsible for policymaking, the administration guarantees full implementation of these policies. Young officers should understand the spirit of state policies and treat their execution as a professional responsibility.

The Chief Minister praised the provincial government’s fiscal discipline in the previous financial year, noting that over 14 billion PKR were saved in non-development expenditures. Funds allocated for development projects were used timely and accurately, enabling 100% release of funds and completion of many projects within deadlines.

He also mentioned that reforms have been initiated to control the rising pension bill to ensure long-term financial stability. Mir Sarfraz Bugti urged the young officers to make improving governance and service delivery their foremost priority, as sustainable solutions to public problems lie therein.

Addressing social concerns, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of educating the youth about the historical and ground realities of Balochistan. He called for guiding society by distinguishing between perception and reality to protect the nation from misleading ideologies.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti clarified that the real issue facing Balochistan is not unbalanced development but the anti-state mindset of certain elements trying to alienate youth from the government. He acknowledged that unbalanced development is a global challenge best tackled through integrated and equitable development strategies.

Concluding his remarks, the Chief Minister praised the enthusiasm of young officers and expressed hope that they would adopt honesty, transparency, rule of law, and public service as their guiding principles, playing a pivotal role in leading Balochistan towards progress and prosperity.
