860 Killed and Injured in Terrorism-Related Incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa During First Half of 2025

Peshawar: According to a police report obtained by Geo News, 860 people, including police personnel, Frontier Corps (FC) members, Levies (Haassa Daar), and civilians, have been killed or injured in various terrorism-related incidents across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the first six months of this year.

The report reveals that terrorism incidents were recorded in 15 districts of the province, with Bannu witnessing the highest casualties—181 people killed or injured—followed by North Waziristan with 155 casualties.

According to the police report, 63 police officers were killed and 84 injured in terror attacks during this period. Civilians suffered heavy losses as well, with 101 killed and 292 injured. In Bannu, 22 civilians were killed, Mardan reported 16, South Waziristan 15, and North Waziristan 11 civilian deaths.

The Frontier Constabulary (FC) suffered 46 fatalities and 82 injuries, including 15 FC personnel killed in the tribal district of Kurram and 9 in North Waziristan.

The report also notes that 11 Levies personnel were killed and 18 injured. Among police casualties, 21 officers died in Bannu and 11 in Dera Ismail Khan. Other districts reported police fatalities as well: Kohat (7), Peshawar (6), South Waziristan (4), Kurram (3), and Khyber (2 killed and 3 injured).

Out of the 756 terrorism cases registered across the province this year, the Counter Terrorism Department is currently investigating 561 cases.
