Gold Prices Surge Again, Making It Inaccessible for the Common Man; Silver Prices Also Rise

Karachi: Gold prices saw another significant increase in both international and local markets today, pushing the precious metal further out of reach for the average consumer.
In the international bullion market, the price of gold per ounce surged by $66, reaching a new global price of $3,348. Meanwhile, the local gold markets in Pakistan also experienced a price hike on Tuesday. As a result, the price of 24-carat gold per tola (11.66 grams) rose by 6,600 Pakistani rupees, reaching 356,800 rupees per tola.
Similarly, the price of gold per 10 grams also rose by 5,658 rupees, bringing the cost to 305,898 rupees.
In addition to gold, silver prices also saw an increase. The price of one tola of silver rose by 52 rupees, reaching 3,834 rupees, while the price of silver per 10 grams increased by 45 rupees, reaching 3,287 rupees.
These price hikes in precious metals are putting significant strain on the purchasing power of consumers, especially in a country already grappling with inflation.
