Supreme Court Ruling on Reserved Seats: Election Commission to Hold Key Meeting Today

Islamabad: Following the Supreme Court’s decision regarding reserved seats, the Election Commission of Pakistan is expected to hold an important meeting today.
Sources indicate that the meeting will focus on formulating a strategy for implementing the Supreme Court’s ruling and reviewing the court’s decision. Additionally, the restored decision of the Peshawar High Court will also be discussed during the session.
The meeting, which will be chaired by the Chief Election Commissioner, will involve consultation with all commission members and the legal team. After the meeting, the notification of the candidates’ victories is expected to be issued the same day.
The Supreme Court’s ruling will also be considered in light of its impact on the future decisions regarding the Sunni Ittehad Council, following the verdict of July 12.
