Major Political Development Expected as PM Shehbaz Meets Chaudhry Nisar

Lahore: A significant development in the country’s political landscape is expected as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the residence of estranged PML-N leader and former Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
According to Dawn News, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived at Chaudhry Nisar’s residence to discuss the prevailing political situation and key national matters. Sources claim the Prime Minister is making efforts to reconcile with the disgruntled senior politician, who has remained largely inactive in politics for several years.
This is not the first meeting between the two; last year in September, PM Shehbaz Sharif also visited Chaudhry Nisar to offer condolences on the passing of his sister.
Information Minister Attaullah Tarar was also present during the recent meeting.
Chaudhry Nisar, once a central figure in the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), parted ways with the party in 2018 after more than 34 years of association. At the time, he stated that his decision was guided by his conscience, emphasizing his preference for dignity over power in politics.
Following his departure from PML-N, he contested the 2018 general elections independently from four national and provincial constituencies in Rawalpindi. He had also criticized the party’s ticket distribution, claiming that most tickets were given to what he called “political orphans.”
The recent meeting has sparked speculation about his possible return to active politics and a potential reconciliation with the PML-N leadership.
