National Security Committee Meeting Reaffirms Full Support for Iran’s Defense and Condemns Israeli Aggression

Islamabad: The National Security Committee (NSC) meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, strongly condemned Israeli aggression against Iran and reiterated Pakistan’s full support for Iran’s defense. The meeting was attended by the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff, the three services chiefs, and federal ministers.
During the session, the committee discussed the evolving situation in the region following Israeli attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities. The NSC strongly condemned Israel’s aggressive actions and expressed concern over the impact of these attacks, which have intensified tensions between Iran and the United States. The committee noted that irresponsible actions during constructive negotiations between Iran and the U.S. have further escalated the conflict, weakening the prospects for dialogue and diplomacy in the region.
The National Security Committee affirmed Iran’s right to self-defense under the United Nations Charter, extending full support to the country. The committee expressed deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives in the attacks and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
In a statement, the committee reiterated Pakistan’s principled stance and voiced concern over potential further escalation following the June 22nd attacks on Iran’s Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear facilities. The NSC described these attacks as a blatant violation of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) resolutions, international laws, and the United Nations Charter.
The committee reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to staying in close contact with relevant parties and continuing efforts to promote regional peace and stability. The NSC called on all stakeholders to resolve the conflict through dialogue and diplomacy in line with the United Nations Charter.
The meeting also stressed the importance of adhering to international human rights and humanitarian law.
Before the NSC meeting, the Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan held an important meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
