CM Maryam Nawaz Announces Assessment of Wind Energy Potential Through Public-Private Partnership

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced that the provincial government will explore the possibilities of harnessing wind energy through public-private partnerships.
In her message on Global Wind Day, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of renewable energy, stating that the day serves as a reminder to explore innovative energy systems. She highlighted that even small-scale wind energy projects have the potential to become major assets.
Maryam Nawaz noted that Punjab, particularly the Thal region, holds immense potential for wind energy production. “There are abundant opportunities to harness wind energy in Thal, and we must utilize this renewable force to generate electricity,” she said.
She further added that Global Wind Day is an opportunity to move beyond traditional energy sources and consider sustainable alternatives. The government will conduct a detailed assessment of the potential for wind energy through collaborations between the public and private sectors.
The initiative is aimed at diversifying Punjab’s energy mix and promoting clean, renewable power solutions for long-term sustainability.
