Prime Minister Approves 10% Increase in Salaries of Government Employees

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif rejected the previously proposed 6% salary hike for government employees, announcing instead a 10% increase in their pay.
Sources indicate that the Federal Cabinet has approved the Federal Budget for the fiscal year 2025-26.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister has raised the pension increase from 7% to 10%.
While addressing the Federal Cabinet, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif emphasized the crucial role of salaried individuals in the country’s economic stability. He also remarked that the elite class must answer for how much tax they have paid compared to salaried individuals.
Sharif stated that the new budget focuses on economic growth and progress. “In the recent conflict, we decisively defeated the enemy. Now, we will also overcome our opponents in the economic field,” he added.
It’s important to note that before this, the government had approved a 6% increase in salaries and a 7% increase in pensions.
