Karachi:According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Karachi is likely to experience hot and humid weather over the next 24 hours, with partial cloud cover expected. The department also reports that sea breezes have resumed, with winds expected to reach speeds of 20 to 45 kilometers per hour.

Humidity levels in the air are anticipated to remain between 50% and 75%, which will make the temperature feel 4 to 6 degrees Celsius higher than the actual readings. The maximum temperature in the city is expected to range between 34 and 36 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature recorded was 28.5°C. Yesterday, Karachi’s maximum temperature was recorded at 34.4°C.

Elsewhere in the country, the heatwave continues to affect many regions. The meteorological department predicts that Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will remain hot and dry, while Punjab and Balochistan will also experience scorching heat. In Punjab, a heatwave is expected to persist until June 12, with temperatures soaring 4 to 7 degrees above normal.

However, light rain showers are expected in some parts of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, providing a brief respite from the heat.

**Precautionary Measures**

Meteorologists have advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel in the sun, stay hydrated, and take necessary precautions to protect themselves from the extreme heat.
