PCB Eyes New Window for PSL 11 and 12; Possible Expansion to 8 Teams in 2026

Lahore:The **Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)** is exploring **new scheduling windows** for the **11th and 12th editions** of the **Pakistan Super League (PSL)** in an effort to avoid clashes with international cricket events, media reports revealed.

According to recent reports, **PSL 11** is likely to be scheduled between **December 2025 and January 2026**, while **PSL 12** may be held during **January-February 2027**. However, the proposed dates are **not yet finalized** and could be adjusted depending on the **international cricket calendar**.

In a major development, the **2026 edition** of the PSL could also see the **tournament expanded to 8 teams**, aiming to increase its **global appeal and commercial value**.

The PCB is also planning to include **Peshawar** as a host city for **exhibition matches** in 2026, after the venue was left out in the current season due to **inadequate stadium infrastructure**.

This year, the PSL faced scheduling challenges due to **Pakistan’s hosting of the ICC Champions Trophy**, which forced the league into a **window that overlapped with the Indian Premier League (IPL)** — something the PCB is now keen to avoid in the future.

Fans can expect **official confirmation of dates and expansion plans** in the coming months as the PCB aligns with global scheduling dynamics and prepares for a bigger and better PSL.
