Chef Mahnoor Malik Reveals the Truth Behind Danish Taimoor’s Viral “Filhal” Comment

Lahore: Celebrity chef and guest of the special Ramadan transmission Mahfil-e-Ramzan, Mahnoor Malik, has clarified the context behind actor Danish Taimoor’s controversial “filhal” (for now) remark that recently stirred social media.
During a Ramadan TV program, Danish Taimoor had said, “I am allowed to have four marriages, but filhal I am not doing anything like that. That’s another story.” The statement went viral, drawing widespread criticism and sparking debate across social platforms.
However, Mahnoor Malik has now revealed the real story behind the much-discussed comment. Speaking on a podcast, she stated that the phrase was not part of any planned strategy but rather a reflection of Danish Taimoor’s everyday manner of speaking.
“It’s true that the ‘filhal’ comment went viral, but I’ve said before that what you see on TV is not always the whole picture. Many things are edited before being aired,” Malik explained. She added that Danish Taimoor is by nature a kind person, and using the term filhal is simply a habitual expression for him.
She further disclosed that the topic had been recurring on the show for several days, and when actress Ayeza Khan joined the set, it came up again, prompting Danish to repeat the word multiple times. According to Malik, there seemed to be no intentional motive behind his remarks.
Mahnoor Malik also praised Ayeza Khan’s composed silence during the episode, calling it a wise decision. Given her fame and public image, any reaction from her could have escalated the controversy even further.
