KP Government to Provide Furniture to All Public School Students Under Education Emergency: CM Gandapur

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced a landmark decision to provide furniture to 100% of students in all public schools across the province as part of an education emergency initiative. The move aims to ensure that no child is forced to sit on the floor in any government school.
The decision was made during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to review the upcoming Annual Development Programme (ADP). The meeting was attended by the provincial finance advisor, chief secretary, additional chief secretaries, and other senior officials.
Addressing the meeting, CM Gandapur emphasized that providing a conducive learning environment is a fundamental need for quality education. “No student will sit on the floor in any government school,” he said. “Every child will be provided with proper furniture in the upcoming fiscal year.”
He assured that all necessary funds for the procurement of school furniture will be released on a priority basis. In addition to furniture, the chief minister also prioritized the provision of essential facilities such as clean drinking water and functional washrooms in public schools.
Furthermore, CM Gandapur directed the initiation of special programs to improve the quality of education in government schools. He called for modern training programs for teachers and made it mandatory for all newly recruited teachers to undergo advanced professional training.
The measures reflect the provincial government’s renewed commitment to reforming the education sector and ensuring a dignified and effective learning environment for every student in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
