ECP Responds to Allegations in Sialkot By-Election, Seeks Report from Monitoring Officer

Sialkot: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has taken notice of allegations made by a Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate in PP-52 Sialkot through a video message circulating on social media.
According to the ECP, the candidate made serious accusations regarding the electoral process but failed to file any formal complaint or provide evidence to support the claims.
In response, the Provincial Election Commissioner Punjab directed the concerned District Monitoring Officer (DMO) to submit a detailed report on the matter.
The DMO’s report clarified that no written complaint had been received from the PPP candidate, and the social media allegations were unsupported by any concrete evidence or documentation. The officer stated that the accusations appear to be baseless and unverified.
The Election Commission is monitoring the situation closely and has reiterated the importance of substantiating any claims with proper procedure and evidence.
