Junaid Safdar to Marry Again Within Sharif Family Circle

Lahore: Junaid Safdar, son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, is set to tie the knot for the second time—this time within the extended Sharif family. According to family sources, Junaid’s engagement has been finalized with the granddaughter of Nawaz Sharif’s cousin, a close and long-time family associate.
Sources informed Geo News that the bride-to-be is the daughter of Usman Javed, who is the son of Javed Shafi. Javed Shafi is a close cousin of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and a trusted family confidant.
A formal family meeting was held on Wednesday at Nawaz Sharif’s residence in Model Town, Lahore, where key members including Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Javed Shafi, and other relatives participated. During the gathering, the engagement was formally agreed upon and all ceremonial aspects were finalized.
Sources confirmed that the match is settled and an engagement ceremony will be held soon. Dates for the engagement and wedding will be decided jointly by the two families.
This will be Junaid Safdar’s second marriage. His first marriage took place in 2021 at the prestigious Lanesborough Hotel in London, with Ayesha Saif, daughter of Qatari-based businessman Saif-ur-Rehman Khan. The couple mutually parted ways in October 2023.
Junaid Safdar is recognized as a talented and academically accomplished young man. He holds multiple degrees from prestigious UK institutions, including a Master’s in International Relations from the London School of Economics (2020), and a second Master’s in Global Governance and Ethics from University College London (2022).
