90-Year-Old Father Gets Married Again – Sons Organize Wedding, Set Mahr as One Tola of Gold

Shangla, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – In a heartwarming and inspiring scene from the scenic valley of Bisham Shang in Shangla district, a 90-year-old man, Maulana Saifullah, tied the knot for the second time, proving that love, companionship, and togetherness are not bound by age.
After the passing of his first wife, Maulana Saifullah had been battling loneliness. Despite his advanced age, he expressed a desire to remarry. In a touching and rare gesture, his four sons — Sharifullah, Shafiullah, Rafiullah, and Abdullah — who currently reside in Saudi Arabia, embraced their father’s wish wholeheartedly.
They not only searched for a suitable bride but also arranged the marriage with a mahr (dower) set at one tola of gold. The nikah (marriage ceremony) took place in a joyful environment, attended by relatives, neighbors, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and their families. The groom was taken to the bride’s house in a jubilant wedding procession, where the formal vows were exchanged.

Speaking to the media, Sharifullah said,
“Our father has always been a pious and selfless man. After our mother’s passing, his loneliness deeply affected us. This was a heartfelt wish of his, and we felt it was our duty to fulfill it. Today, we feel proud to have turned his dream into reality.”
Local residents and social circles have praised the act, calling it a positive social message: that the happiness and emotions of parents should never be limited by age or societal norms.
The wedding was also recorded on video, showing Maulana Saifullah happily reciting the marriage vows. The footage has gone viral on social media, with many praising the event as a “journey of love that transcends age.”
This story is not just about a remarriage in old age, but a powerful expression of love, respect, and sacrifice that highlights the beautiful bond between a father and his sons.
