Actress Nadia Afgan Receives Death Threats After Criticizing Feroze Khan

Islamabad – Veteran Pakistani actress Nadia Afgan has revealed receiving disturbing death threats after criticizing fellow actor Feroze Khan during a recent interview. The actress shared that the backlash began shortly after her comments went public, with anonymous social media accounts flooding her inbox with threats and hateful messages.
“I was told, ‘We’ll kill you, you can’t act, you’re just selling gossip’ — these were the messages I received from accounts claiming to support Feroze Khan,” Nadia disclosed in an emotional statement during a popular review show. She emphasized that many of the threats came from fake profiles, often lacking profile pictures, adding to the sense of fear and psychological pressure.
Nadia further elaborated that her criticism was not baseless but stemmed from private conversations with several actors who have worked with Feroze Khan. According to her, these colleagues described Feroze as a difficult and dominating co-star. Based on these experiences, she felt compelled to speak out.
However, the reaction from Feroze Khan’s fan base was swift and aggressive. “Some of the messages said, ‘We will destroy you,’ ‘You’re not cut out for acting,’ and accused me of seeking cheap fame,” she said, her voice trembling.
She added sarcastically, “At least put your real photo; the cowardice of hiding behind fake profiles is the most terrifying.” Nadia stressed that while she does not claim to be perfect, she is committed to her craft and follows her heart — not the pursuit of fame.
Despite the threats, she found support from various writers and fellow actors who validated her concerns and stood by her side.
This incident raises critical questions: Do artists not have the right to speak out about their experiences? And has social media, once a platform for expression, now become a tool for intimidation and revenge?
