Defense Minister Khawaja Asif Hits Back at Modi: “He Has Returned to His True Nature

Islamabad:Pakistan’s Defense Minister **Khawaja Muhammad Asif** has issued a sharp response to recent remarks made by Indian Prime Minister **Narendra Modi**, stating that **Modi has finally returned to his true nature**.

The rebuttal came after Modi, during a rally in **Gujarat**, made provocative comments regarding Pakistan, saying:

> *“The people of Pakistan must rise up to rid the country of terrorism. Live in peace, eat your meals—or else, my bullet is always ready.”*

Reacting to this statement, Khawaja Asif criticized Modi’s rhetoric as **dangerous and irresponsible**, saying such leaders not only **undermine regional peace** but also threaten **global stability**.

> “Unfortunately, when people like Modi come into power, they destabilize not just their own country but the entire region and beyond,” Asif said during an appearance on Geo News’ program *“Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath.”*

Khawaja Asif further claimed that Modi is reeling from a **political defeat** and appears to be **in shock** over recent political developments that have damaged his public image and influence.

> “Modi sees his political demise before him. It has already begun, and he is still grappling with the reality of what has happened to him,” he added.

### Response to Aleema Khan’s Statement

During the same interview, Khawaja Asif also addressed recent remarks made by **Aleema Khan**, the sister of PTI founder **Imran Khan**. She had urged authorities to engage in dialogue with the family, asking what conditions must be met to secure Imran Khan’s release from prison.

In response, Asif remarked:

> “There is a slight attempt in her tone to seek a way forward. If that’s the case, it could be considered. Let’s see what they truly want.”

Aleema Khan had stated earlier in the week:

> *“Sit down with us. Tell us what Imran Khan should do, and what you need from us to let him go free.”*

The remarks from both sides signal an increasingly charged political and diplomatic climate in the region, with tensions escalating not just between **India and Pakistan**, but also within Pakistan’s domestic politics as key figures in the opposition continue to face legal and political challenges.
