Pakistan Extends Airspace Ban on Indian Aircraft Until June 24, 2025

Islamabad:Pakistan has extended its airspace restrictions on Indian aircraft until **June 24, 2025**, according to a **Notice to Airmen (NOTAM)** issued by the **Pakistan Airports Authority**.

The updated NOTAM states that **all Indian-registered, operated, owned, or leased aircraft** remain barred from entering Pakistani airspace. The ban also includes **Indian military aircraft** and any **flights operated by Indian airlines or carriers**.

This extension comes in response to an earlier move by India, which restricted Pakistani flights following the **Pahalgam incident**. Pakistan reciprocated by imposing its own restrictions on Indian aircraft.

According to aviation analysts, the continued airspace closure has cost Indian airlines over **₹800 crore (INR)** in the past month alone. If the ban persists, Indian carriers may face severe operational challenges and could require **special financial support** or make **major strategic changes** to remain viable.

The move reflects **rising tensions** between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, and aviation experts warn of long-term disruptions in regional connectivity if diplomatic resolutions are not reached soon.
