China Reaffirms Support for Pakistan’s Sovereignty and Regional Integrity During Diplomatic Visit

China has reaffirmed its commitment to standing by Pakistan in safeguarding its sovereignty and regional integrity. This announcement came during the visit of Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, to China, where he met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
During the meeting, Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized China’s support for efforts aimed at achieving sustainable peace between Pakistan and India. He welcomed attempts to resolve differences through dialogue and negotiations. “China will stand with Pakistan in protecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Wang Yi said. He also expressed China’s backing for a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire between Pakistan and India, along with supporting the pursuit of fundamental solutions to bilateral issues.
Wang Yi further suggested that China and Pakistan should strengthen bilateral cooperation in various sectors, including industry, agriculture, energy, and mineral resources. He also stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
Earlier, Ishaq Dar also met with Yu Jianchao, a senior member of the Chinese Communist Party. In their meeting, both sides agreed to further strengthen ties between political parties. Dar appreciated China’s consistent support for Pakistan’s sovereignty and fundamental interests.
Yu Jianchao reaffirmed China’s priority in maintaining strong relations with Pakistan, stating, “China considers Pakistan its iron brother and will continue to prioritize its relationship with Pakistan.” This visit highlights the ongoing strategic partnership between the two countries, with a focus on expanding cooperation across multiple domains.
