Governor Balochistan Stresses Interfaith Harmony and Equal Rights for All Citizens

Quetta:Governor of Balochistan, Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, emphasized the importance of respecting differing opinions and promoting interfaith harmony as a cornerstone of a healthy society. He stated that Pakistan’s diversity in religion and ethnicity is a strength, not a weakness, and that all citizens — regardless of majority or minority status — must be guaranteed equal rights and opportunities.

Speaking at the Interfaith Harmony Conference held at the Governor House in Quetta, Governor Mandokhail highlighted that the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees equal rights, freedom of religion, and freedom of expression to all its citizens. The conference was attended by Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, Parliamentary Secretary Sanjay Kumar, Naseem ur Rehman Malkhail, scholars from various religious backgrounds, and representatives from different sectors.

The governor praised the role of religious minorities in Pakistan and Balochistan, acknowledging their valuable contributions across multiple fields. He expressed hope that these communities would continue playing an active role in the progress and development of the province and the country.

“In this era of self-interest and division, promoting tolerance, compassion, and patriotism is essential,” said Governor Mandokhail. He called upon religious leaders and scholars to play a proactive role in creating a society rooted in mutual respect and harmony.

He reiterated that true peace and prosperity can only be achieved by encouraging unity, upholding the rule of law, and respecting diverse opinions. Governor Mandokhail concluded by urging all stakeholders to work together to make the province a model of peaceful coexistence.
