Drug Smuggling Attempt Foiled in Rawalpindi; Woman Among Two Suspects Arrested

Rawalpindi: The Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Department in Rawalpindi successfully foiled a drug smuggling attempt, arresting two suspects, including a female smuggler. Authorities recovered over 1.36 kilograms of crystal meth (Ice) from the accused.
According to the department’s spokesperson, a total of 1,360 grams of Ice was seized from the suspects. Acting on a tip-off received by Director Imran Aslam and ETO Rawalpindi Gul Sher, a special checkpoint was established near Rawat on GT Road.
Under the supervision of Inspector Jahangir Khan, the Narcotics Control team intercepted a passenger van, recovering 360 grams of Ice from a female passenger identified as Kunza Shehzadi. In a separate operation, over 1 kilogram of Ice was recovered from a male suspect named Imran Shehzad traveling on a bus.
The suspects were reportedly attempting to smuggle the drugs to inner Punjab. Both were apprehended and handed over to Rawat Police following legal procedures.
Inspector Jahangir Khan stated that a case has been registered under the Narcotics and Drug Smuggling Act. He added that strict checking will continue as part of ongoing efforts to combat the menace of drug trafficking.
