Balochistan High Court Orders Release of 47 Detainees Under MPO, Further Hearing on 7 Remaining Individuals on May 6

Quetta: In a significant ruling, the Balochistan High Court has ordered the release of 47 individuals detained under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) after arguments presented by Advocate Sajid Tareen. The provincial government, through the Advocate General, submitted the release orders to the court, confirming the release of the detainees.
Advocate Sajid Tareen, in his petition, stated that only 7 individuals remain in detention whose release will be further discussed in the next hearing. The remaining detainees include Mehrang Baloch, Bebo Baloch, Gulzadi, Bebarg Baloch, Mama Ghafar, and others, for whom the petition for release was filed.
The provincial government informed the court that they wish to continue deliberations regarding the release of these 7 individuals. In response, Advocate Sajid Tareen argued that further delay would be a waste of time and urged the court to issue a ruling, allowing them to challenge the decision in the Supreme Court if needed.
The case was heard by Chief Justice Ejaz Swati and Justice Amir Rana. After considering the request, the court scheduled another hearing for May 6, when the remaining 7 cases will be further discussed, and the court will issue its final decision.
