Balochistan Not Receiving Revenue Share from Gwadar Port, GPA Confirms

GWADAR – In a formal communication to the Balochistan government, the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) has clarified that the province is currently receiving no share from the revenue generated by the Gwadar Port.

According to the letter, the operational control of the port is held by a Chinese company, and the revenue generated is being shared with the Gwadar Port Authority under specific agreements. Two of the operating entities are providing 9% of their revenue to the GPA, while a third is contributing 15%.

This disclosure has raised concerns within the Balochistan leadership, as the province remains sidelined from financial benefits tied to a major strategic and economic asset located within its territory.

Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has assured that the matter will be taken up with the federal government, highlighting long-standing concerns over provincial rights and equitable resource distribution.
