82 PTI Supporters Confess in November 26 Protest Case, Sentenced to Jail and Fines

Rawalpindi:In a significant development, 82 accused individuals in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest case of November 26 have confessed to their involvement and were sentenced by an anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi.
The court heard 24 cases registered against PTI workers related to protests on November 24 and 26, 2024. Out of 1,609 total accused, 560 appeared in court and were formally charged.
During the proceedings, 82 of the accused pleaded guilty and submitted sworn affidavits stating that they were incited to protest by PTI’s local and central leadership. They admitted that they were encouraged to take part in violent demonstrations and claimed they were poor laborers seeking leniency from the court.
In their written statements, the accused assured the court they would not participate in any future protests. Following their confessions, the court sentenced each of them to four months in jail along with a fine of Rs 15,000.
