PM Shehbaz Meets Nawaz Sharif in Raiwind, Briefs Him on National Security Committee Decisions

LAHORE – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held an important meeting with former Prime Minister and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif at Jati Umra, Raiwind, where the two discussed the overall political and security situation of the country. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was also present during the meeting.

According to media reports, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif briefed Nawaz Sharif on the key decisions taken during the National Security Committee (NSC) meeting held in the wake of the recent Pahalgam incident.

Shehbaz Sharif stated that India staged a “pre-planned drama” in Pahalgam, similar to previous such actions, but emphasized that Pakistan would give a strong and appropriate response to any Indian provocation.

“We are alert, and the future of the country is bright,” the Prime Minister asserted, adding that even during wartime, decisions like suspending the Indus Waters Treaty were never made.

Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s firm stance against terrorism, stating, “We strongly condemn all forms of terrorism. Pakistan is committed to peace in the region.”
