Olympian Arshad Nadeem Declines Invitation to Bengaluru Classic Javelin Throw Event

Islamabad:Pakistan’s Olympic gold medalist **Arshad Nadeem**, a renowned javelin thrower, has respectfully declined the invitation to participate in the **Bengaluru Classic Javelin Throw** event in India. The invitation was extended by Indian Olympian **Neeraj Chopra**, the reigning Olympic gold medalist, who had personally invited Nadeem to take part in the event.
In a statement, Arshad Nadeem expressed his gratitude to Neeraj Chopra for the kind gesture but cited prior commitments as the reason for not being able to attend. “My schedule is already very tight, and due to prior engagements, I am unable to participate in the Bengaluru Classic Javelin Throw event,” Nadeem said.
He further thanked **Neeraj Chopra** for remembering him and for the invitation. “I appreciate Neeraj Chopra’s gesture of inviting me to this prestigious event. However, due to my already packed schedule, I cannot make the trip to India,” Nadeem added.
The **Bengaluru Classic Javelin Throw** is scheduled for **May 20** in India. However, Nadeem’s schedule conflicts with the event as he is already set to depart for **South Korea** on **May 22** to compete in the **Asian Athletics Championship**. The championship is slated to begin on **May 27** in **South Korea**.
Arshad Nadeem’s focus remains on preparing for the Asian Championship, where he will represent Pakistan on a global stage.
