Rawalpindi:Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan had an internal meeting with his lawyers at Adiala Jail, where he shared his thoughts on various political matters. According to reports, Khan expressed relief over his separation from PTI leader Shahryar Afridi, saying, “Thank God, we got rid of Shahryar Afridi.”
While discussing the political landscape, Khan also expressed his displeasure about Afridi’s involvement in PTI’s internal matters, specifically his statements regarding the family of his sister, Aleema Khan. Khan reportedly condemned Afridi’s comments and also criticized his approach towards the party’s legal fees.
In the same meeting, Khan touched upon a number of key issues, including the controversial Mines and Minerals Bill, and expressed concerns over the bill’s implications. He instructed that PTI’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, be called for a discussion regarding the bill.
Khan also sent a message to the party leadership, urging them to put aside any differences and work together for the greater good of the party. However, he also issued a stern warning to PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar for his apologetic behavior, calling for a more assertive approach.
On foreign policy, Khan expressed frustration over the government’s delay in initiating talks with Afghanistan. He noted that the delay had created unnecessary tension, urging that diplomatic initiatives should have been launched sooner.
Khan further instructed PTI’s Secretary General, Salman Akram Raja, to write a letter to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, urging him to take action against the lack of rule of law in the country.
